GeneteX is a Megaman X Password Generator for windows.

1. General Usage Information
--------------------------------------------------------
To Generate a Password Just check the boxes for the items
you want to have. It generates it as you check them.

GeneteX can also decode passwords to tell you information
about that password. Just enter your password by clicking on
the password numbers; then click the Decode Password button.
all the Checkboxes should come checked or unchecked depending
on information from the password.

2. About Megaman X Passwords.
--------------------------------------------------------
Megaman X Passwords contain 29 bits of data. Each checkbox
represents a bit.

The three Random Password Bits are just randomly set by the game and
are probably there just to make the password look random. That is why
you can have the exact same item setup and get a different password
the next time you die.

The Intro Level Beat bit must be on for any of the Items Acquired Checkboxes
to work. This isn't a limitation of GeneteX; it is a limitation of the game.
There is assembly code in the game that makes sure all the items acquired
bits are cleared before it will accept a password that puts you at the intro
level

There is one other bit that I could not quite figure out. I believe it was
supposed to tell if you have the Hadouken Move because the only password
I could decode that had it set was a password the game gave me after I got
the secret Hadouken move. As we know though, the Hadouken move can't be
loaded from a password and must be acquired each time you play. Perhaps this
bit was supposed to tell if you had the hadouken move but was later taken out
for some reason.

3. About the creation of this program.
--------------------------------------------------------
Genetex was created by my own personal analysis of the the password generation
and verification subroutines in Megaman X. Making this program was no easy task
as the game does some crazy stuff to encode bits into a password. But I had fun
doing this, perhaps I'll do one for Megaman X2 or 3 sometime. But don't count on
it.
